Each year, our AIFS offices in Australia organize Camp America recruitment events, or “road shows”. These road shows attract hundreds of potential applicants, most with a wide range of backgrounds and skills that are in extremely high demand at camp. For 2008, we would like to offer you the opportunity to hire such applicants on the spot. Why not join us!

Why should I participate?
“Walkabout” is a unique, low-cost opportunity to access superior camp counselor candidates in the prime of the Australian recruitment season. Interview and hire right on the spot!
Is this a Camp Directors’ Fair?
Unlike a Camp Directors’ Fair, “Walkabout” is an informal international staffing opportunity. While we provide guidance, camps participate with a high level of flexibility and independence. Competition for staff is minimal, as we anticipate no more than fifteen or so camps per venue.
What does it cost?
Participation is FREE. That is, you will incur no charges from Camp America. We only ask that camps who join us are serious about hiring quality staff!
Who do I send?
By far the most reasonable solution is to send a local representative you trust to hire for you. Representatives are usually volunteer camp alumni that you reimburse directly for travel and accommodation. Alternatively, you may want to use frequent flier miles or secure a promotional online airfare and turn the trip into a personal adventure for you or a deserving staff member. Either way you are assured access to exceptional applicants.
What if I don’t have any camp alumni who can hire for me?
Keep an eye on this year’s Australian camp staff! Good performers who are good judges of character and skills often make perfect staffing representatives!
I am interested, but at this early stage I am unsure if this will work for me. What should I do?
Just indicate your preliminary interest by returning the enclosed reply card. We’ll call to discuss, and keep in contact with you over the coming months to see how “Walkabout” fits with your 2008 recruitment plans.
I have multiple contacts in Australia that can hire for me. Can I send them to different cities?
Send representatives to as many cities as you wish! We only require that they participate with the intention and authorization to hire directly at the events.
